Early in 2021 Facebook decided that it would no longer allow newspaper businesses in Australia to piggyback on its website.

Obviously the time for a free ride was up.

Powerful Australian political forces came out on the sides of the newspaper barons businesses in that country. [Oz Gov Op]

As a consequence of that conflict Facebook determined to close down its delivery of services of its website to organisations (not private individuals) in Australia.[Facebook Op]

Because I like to make comment on public events I decided to put up a website expressing my opinion and to do so on 19 February I purchased the domain ozfacebook.site and using that domain posted my website.

Within approximately 1 hour of going live my website went off-line.

The problem was that an organisation who I had never heard of before called RADIX apparently has been appointed self-righteous guardian of all of the domain names populated by registrars throughout the globe and according to this organisation without any communication with me closed down the operation of my domain.

After series of exchanges between myself and RADIX the domain for the website was released and the website became active again but the process that underpinned thier actions was unacceptable and a complaint was made to ICANN.

See here the outcome of that proces.
